The Gardens of Appeltern
The Gardens of Appeltern are situated just below the hart of The Netherlands in between the cities of Tiel, Oss and Nijmegen. Currently the park is 13 hectares (32 acres) in size and is still expanding. It forms a perfect day out for all garden lovers and outdoor people of all ages. The Gardens of Appeltern are the largest and multi-purposed park for garden ideas in Europe and are opened nearly yearround.

Next to the 190 fantastic example- and modelgardens the Gardens of Appeltern contains a wealth of objective information on all garden topics and items. Visiting this beautiful park is the ideal way to obtain gardening inspiration and knowledge, simply by wandering around.

The peony borders in their first blooming season (late May 2005).		 Peony borders
Specialized growers of e.g. Hemerocallis and Viburnum preceded us, and started in 2005 we also are present in The Gardens of Appeltern. In fall 2004 we planted two large peony borders containing well over 200 plants of over 60 different varieties. Each variety is visibly named, for your convenience.

These peony borders display the grand diversity within the genus Paeonia well and truely are a treat for the eyes, certainly during blooming season (late April through late June). Visiting frequently during this period is well worth your while. Of course peonies are beautiful from emerging very early in spring to dying back in autumn with their nice fall coloring.

Our annual Peony Weekend will be held this year during the weekend of May 31 and June 1, for the 4th time in succession in The Gardens of Appeltern. The previous Peony Weekends have been very well received by us as well us the visitors. We very much look forward to see you at the coming edition!

During the Peony Weekend we will be present to inform you about peonies as much as we can and to answer all your peony questions. Photomaterial will be abundantly present.

These photos, the plants in the peony borders and the flowers we display in vases will help you to get a grand impression of peonies. We will display as much varieties as possible in vases.
Without a doubt it will be a very colourfull weekend!!!

With this Peony Weekend we offer you the best possible way to order your favourite peony plant(s), which then will be shipped the coming fall.

Also we will be offering cutflower peonies of several varieties, freshly cut from our peony fields. Other peony items such as picture postcards and posters will also be available.

Above all this Peony Weekend is all about information on peonies, in the beautiful surroundings of abundantly flowering peonies of many, many varieties.
